Afroperuana Experience is a Los Angeles-based artistic company that integrates art from a holistic perspective, showcasing the cultural resilience and resistance of Peru’s African ancestors. This heritage is brought to life on stage through traditional musical instruments such as the cajón, cajita, and quijada. The company’s director, Nadia Calmet, has over 30 years of experience promoting Peruvian culture around the world. Her show, "Ecos de Resistencia," is a cultural journey through the African diaspora in Peru, highlighting its music, theater, poetry, and Afro-Peruvian dances such as panalivios, zamacuecas, and festejos.
