Arsenio Rodríguez Project – a Los Angeles–based all-star ensemble – unites some of today’s finest musicians to deliver an authentic, high-energy performance. Created to honor the legacy of Arsenio Rodríguez, the “Father of Salsa,” the orchestra celebrates the groundbreaking innovations that shaped Cuban music and laid the foundation for the sound later popularized worldwide by the Buena Vista Social Club.
In this special tribute concert in Marina del Rey, the ensemble pays homage to the Buena Vista Social Club – the legendary group of veteran Cuban musicians who, after being rediscovered in the 1990s, became a global sensation.
Audiences can expect a vibrant evening of traditional Cuban styles – son, bolero, and danzón – all carried by the deep rhythmic foundation first created by Arsenio Rodríguez.
