• Who is Tego?:Tegui Calderón Rosario was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, but grew up in Miami where he was exposed to a wide array of music, from salsa to rock ‘n’ roll.
• His start: In 2000, Puerto Rican rapper Eddie Dee invited Tego to join him on his album El Terrorista De La Lírica, which helped launch Tego’s globe-spanning career
• Recognition: from 2003 to 2015 Calderón was nominated for or won 11 awards, including two Grammys and six Latin Grammys
