La Mecánica Popular is a Brooklyn-based experimental afro-Latin group led by Efraín Rozas. Their sound is steeped in the roots of 1970’s-era Salsa Dura, yet incorporate a heavy dose of modern gadgets – a unique blend of processed eruvian-style guitar licks & experimental synths, sounds and textures. They have played at the Fania records 50th anniversary in Central Park Summerstage, featured in CNN, BBC and named one of the top 3 Latin acts in the U.S. by Juanes.
