The group has its origins in early 1996 after the departure of Alberto Pimentel (vocalist), from the band Transmetal with whom he covers a career of approximately a decade and with whom he recorded more than 10 Albums as the original vocalist.

Leprosy published its first production under the name of Wicked Reich (Reino Maldito/Cursed Kingdom), Llora Chiapas, with which they open doors on radio and television. The third production of the group was Rey de las Bestias/King of the Beasts, after which Devorando Sueños/Devoring Dreams, was published with the participation of Kenny y los Electricos.

In 2001 the group recorded and edited their first live material along with a live DVD under the name of Leprosy live vol.1 and 2. In 1992 ”La Maldicion” (“The Curse”) is published, In 2004 a compilation of hits called A travez de los Tiempos/Throughout the times, Tambores de Fuego/Drums of Fire and Tribute to Death/Tributo a la Muerte with version in Spanish and in English all these materials under the label of Discos y Cintas Denver, In 2013 the production of Llueve Sangre/Blood Raining is totally independent, Leprosy’s most recent music production named “Convivencia Sagrada Vol 1 and 2” these last under the label Discos y Cintas Denver.

With all these music material., Leprosy opens the possibility of going abroad to other Countries, covering the Mexican Republic., , the market opened touring throughout central and South America and United States, alternated with the most representative groups such as: Cannibal Corpse, Decide, Kreator, Slayer, Sepultura, Death, Over Kill, Rigor Mortis, Devastation, Death Angel, Dark Angel, DRI, Angel Morbid, Asesino, Animal, Rata Blanca, Angeles del Infierno, El Tri, Alejandra Guzmán, Enanitos Verdes, Inspector, Mass Terror, Acidez, Sindrome, and many more…

The group has had television appearances in programs like Tele Hit, MTV, Canal Once, Channel 34, Channel 22, in interviews and programming their videos, radio, print media appearances. The group has had outstanding performances abroad at festivals and as guests at events for more than 15,000 people and traveling through many countries with high percentages of sales of their albums, gaining more and more followers all the time.
