Event description
Piero
A Latin grammy Lifetime achievement Award winner with more than five decades in the music industry, has dabbled in different genres, from rock, folklore, social music (protest), romantic and child. He has produced more than thirty albums and several of his songs have been re-edited and interpreted by great artists in different languages (Italian, Portuguese, French, German and English).

Piero is a popular troubadour who, through the testimonial song, reflects the reality of the common man, his anxieties and hopes, interprets the feel of Latin American people and realizes social and political conflicts that marked the history of countries subject to internal wars, the cruel military dictatorships and systematic violations of human rights.

He has shared the stage with a multitude of greats, including Caetano Veloso, Bob Dylan, Pablo Milanes, Paul Simon, Joan Báez, Julio Iglesias, Crosby, Still, Nash & Young, Ivan Lins, Richie Havens, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Joaquin Sabina, Phil Manzanera, Iva Zanicchi, David Gilmour, Fito Paez, Quilapayún, Roger Daltrey, Silvio Rodriguez, Raimundo Fagner  Crosby, among others.

With his first album, "Mi Viejo" published in 1969, which sold more than 5 million copies worldwide and occupied for a long time the first places in the ranking of public acceptance he reached and has maintained himself as popular today as then.

The song has also been recorded by artists as diverse as Vicente Fernandez, Lucho Gatica, Nicola Di Bari, Lucho Barrios, Iva Zanicchi and Altemar Dutra, among others in different versions, languages and musical genres.

In 2017 he produced his album called América, material edited by SONY Colombia and released his Biography "Piero, my dear Piero" edited by Random House. In that same year he received the grammy Lifetime Achievement award and was named Ambassador of Peace of the Republic of Colombia. Today "Mi Viejo" goes around the world more alive than ever ...

Now we celebrate 50 years of 'Mi Viejo" along with all his hits this June 21 2019 at Sony Hall as he brings us back and sends us reminiscing
