Sunday July 30 is the kick-off of our Latin Jazz series at Takoma Station. This inaugural show features René Ibañez & Cubano Groove with René on percussion and vocals, Juan Carlos Tito Pineda on bass, Patricia Lozado on vocals, Bienben ido Dnezay on keyboard and Sergio Nuñez on saxophone .
René is a well-known Cuban percussionist who has performed with many top Latin jazz artists as well as the band Sin Miedo in the DC area for more than 30 years. His band, Cubano Groove, plays jazz, salsa, boogaloo and other Latin forms and keeps traditional Cuban Music – old and new – alive. Come for dinner and bring your dancing shoes or just sit back and enjoy the toe-tapping music.
