Last year’s champions, France, begin their title defence on Thursday, 5 February as Fabien Galthie’s charges host Ireland at the Stade de France in Paris.

The tournament opener is scheduled in midweek in order to avoid a clash with the Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

The action resumes on Saturday with Italy hosting Scotland in Rome before England and Wales collide at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham.
